Inside an aux box Install

aux box team6 min read

Install is the part everyone sees on Instagram. Here's what's actually happening behind the lift.

Before the truck arrives

Your foundation has been in for at least a week. Site access has been confirmed. The crane company has done a reach study. Your project manager is on site early.

The lift

The crane raises your unit off the transport trailer and over your house, fence, or trees. The full lift takes 20–40 minutes, but the moment that gets all the photos is the slow descent onto the foundation.

Set and seal

Once landed, the unit is shimmed level, bolted to the foundation, and weather-sealed at any seams.

Hookups

Final utility connections — water, electrical, sewer or septic — are handled by local trades over the following days, coordinated by our team.

What comes next

Once the trades are done, your aux box is ready to live in. Most owners are using their space within a week or two of the crane lift.
